I’ve made words work for many different people, brands, clients and industries. Here’s a selection of some of the projects I’m proudest of.

'Dear Leeds'

As the world plunged into lockdown, I wrote an open letter to Leeds - a message of hope when the world seemed dark. Not only was it published in a local independent magazine, the words became the script to a film - voiced by Ralph Ineson and released in the summer of 2020. Later that year, key phrases were cast in neon and hung above Briggate (Leeds' main shopping street) in an illuminating installation.

Heathrow Airport 
Journey 2 Zero sustainability campaign

I worked closely with stakeholders at Heathrow Airport to define a full messaging architecture for the brand's zero carbon campaign. The result was a vibrant set of creative focused on raising awareness and driving positive action - linking seamlessly to the airport's internal transport initiative, 'Way2Go'.

CLEANS London
Tone of voice and website copy

I worked with sustainable sneaker start-up, CLEANS London to define and develop a unique, luxury tone of voice that would elevate the brand and resonate with its target audience. I went on to craft a full set of copy for the website, including product names and descriptions. I continue to support the brand with ongoing comms in line with its responsible ethos.

I collaborated with photographer, Nick Eagle and designer, Dan Lindley, to build a set of creative showcasing UK skateboarders and the unique, DIY spaces they call home. I interviewed each subject and crafted short, powerful poems from their words and ideas. The project told stories of hope, triumph and strength under the fitting title, 'Skate of Mind'.

Nectar
B2B persona campaign

Nectar's sales staff needed a set of fun, engaging tools to reach new customers and convert leads. I tool qualitative and quantitive survey data and built a set of personas, creating characteristics, personality traits and full 'day-in-the-life' stories to bring each one to life.

I worked closely with a UX/UI specialist to give SCR’s website a new lease of life, with greater reachability, searchabilty and user-friendly content. Bright Sparks - corporate PR initiative

As part of CNG's PR/CSR strategy, I worked on a primary school lesson plan to tackle the knowledge gap around energy sources, production and consumption. I designed and helped craft three engaging plans, channelling fun and collaboration to improve understanding of energy. The lesson plans have since been used in schools across Yorkshire.

Pay Monthly Passes

Key messaging, including headlines, straplines and hashtags for a youth-focused campaign selling in the benefits of Vodafone's new pay-monthly passes. Because what's better than that smug feeling?

3D Productions
Tone of voice development and website copy

I helped Yorkshire-based events company, 3D Productions, carve out a unique tone of voice to match its authentic personality. I started by building a clear, accessible set of guidelines to shape all future comms, and went on to craft a full suite of copy for the new website.

I worked with independent gift card company, Open, to craft a powerful script that would tell the story of the brand's ethos and encourage businesses and buyers to engage with its offer.
